Singing with Honley MVC can be a life changing experience. You’ll learn new skills and grow in confidence as you feel your voice develop. Along the way you’ll have a good laugh and make new friends.

There’s no pressure, no embarrassing moments, no solo singing, no nasty auditions and no need to read music. You’ll gradually learn all you need to know as your experience and confidence grow.

If you can pick a note and hold a tune, you’ll be fine. If you think you’d like to sing with us, just come along to a rehearsal and check us out – you’ll be most welcome.

Rehearsals are every Tuesday from 7.15pm to 9.30pm at St. Paul’s Church, Armitage Road, Armitage Bridge, HD4 7PD.

We are delighted to announce the Choir has once again been selected to take part in the Co-op Local Community Fund.

For every £1 Co-op members spend on selected Co-op branded products and services, 2p goes to you and the same amount to support community organisations and local causes.

We are one of three causes in our community which Co-op members can select to support between now and 21 October 2023.  If you are an existing Co-op member, we should be grateful if you would consider selecting us as your cause for the coming year. If you previously selected us as your chosen cause, as the process effectively starts again, you will need to reselect us.

If you are not already a member and would like to become one (cost £1) further information can be found here You will then be able to select us as your charity to support.

Although we are linked to local Co-op outlets, money raised through Co-op membership can be generated from anywhere in the UK, provided members are buying selected products or services from the Co-op Group.

Your nomination would really count. £1,000 could make a real difference in enabling the Choir to meet its overall charitable aims and objectives of extending its community involvement, thereby benefitting the wider local community. We teach choral singing to develop our community involvement, as singing is a pleasurable activity which reduces anxiety and can lessen feelings of depression or loneliness. Your nomination could be the one that helps us win. Any donation would be used towards our ongoing costs and a free concert for our community. Thanks to everyone at Barnett Waddingham’s Leeds Office who raised money for the Choir at their March 2022 ‘virtual’ coffee morning event. An amazing £280 was raised at the event which when added to £250 ‘matched funding’ also received from Barnett Waddingham resulted in a fantastic £530 being raised in total.

If you have always wanted to sing – now is your chance to try! We start rehearsals again tomorrow, (4th) and although we are are still following our own safety guidelines, you would be most welcome! 

We rehearse on Tuesday evenings at St. Paul’s Church, Armitage Road, Armitage Bridge, HD4 7PD from practice 7.30 to 9.30pm.

Please feel free to come along at about 7.15 any Tuesday evening to check us out. You’ll be made most welcome. There’s lots of car parking at the church.
