Ben Kinder Choir Member of the Year Award
The Ben Kinder Trophy was presented to the Choir in 2012 by Ben Kinder’s grandson Mr. David Lumb, in memory of his grandfather. It is to be awarded each year to the Choir Member of the Year following a ballot of all singing members.
Ben Kinder (pictured, top right), was the founder member of the Honley Male Voice Choir on its formation in 1936.

Ben Kinder Musical Achievement Award
The Ben Kinder Musical Achievement Award was presented to the Choir in 2026 by Ben Kinder’s grandson Mr. David Lumb, in memory of his grandfather. It is awarded to the Choir member who, during the preceding twelve months has shown, musical commitment and contribution to the Choir and their section; consistent preparedness and participation at rehearsals and concert performances; and is fully committed to learning and achieving high standards of singing.
