20 June 2026
On Saturday 20 June, thirty members, friends, and supporters of Honley Male Voice Choir laced up their walking boots and took to the canal towpath for a six‑mile sponsored walk between Marsden and Slaithwaite. Their goal was simple but meaningful: to raise vital funds for Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice and to support the choir’s own music making and community work.
The group enjoyed everything a summer walk should offer – fresh air, good company, and a shared sense of purpose. With well‑timed refreshment stops along the route, spirits stayed high and conversations flowed as easily as the Huddersfield Narrow Canal beside them. Laughter and singing helped the miles pass quickly.
Thanks to the generosity of walkers, donors, and supporters near and far, the event raised an impressive £3,885. Every pound contributes directly to the extraordinary care provided by Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice and helps the choir continue its work across the local community.
A heartfelt thank you goes to everyone who walked, donated, encouraged, or supported the event in any way. Together, we really did go the extra mile.
