On Friday 18 July, members of Honley Male Voice Choir swapped their scoresheets for scorecards as the annual Golf Tournament teed off at the picturesque Marsden Golf Club. With glorious weather and even better company, the event was a celebration of competition and community spirit.
The 9-hole individual Stableford competition welcomed 10 singing members and 4 non-golfing supporters. The day began with a warm breakfast, bacon and sausage butties, plus a vegan option, served from 9.00am, setting the tone for a relaxed and cheerful morning. The first tee-off followed at 9.48am, with players enjoying a well-kept course under clear skies.
After play concluded, participants gathered for pie and peas, a refreshing drink or two, and plenty of post-round banter. Special thanks go to Chris Roberts for organising the event and to Phil Kirkpatrick for compiling the scores.
