Fifteen Choir members and one guest, arrived at Marsden Golf Club early morning for the Choir’s annual Singles Golf Tournament over a 9-hole challenge. Thankfully this year, bright sunshine replaced last year’s torrential rain.
Before a ball was hit, the obligatory bacon-butty and a cup of liquid refreshment was enjoyed by all. At 10am, the competition began, with players in search of birdies, eagles, and albatrosses and hoping to avoid bogeys!
Thanks again to our tournament adjudicator Phil Kirkpatrick who kindly scored the cards of each player. Also, special thanks to Chris Roberts and David Rhodes for their excellent organisation skills.
This year’s winner was ‘newbie’ Andrew Wallis (2nd tenor), Roger Wild (baritone) second and Nick Glossop (baritone) third. A few 19th hole libations ensured thirsts were quenched but not before Andrew Wallis was presented with the Singles Trophy by Choir Chairman, David Harrison.
