At 9am, sixteen Choir members and two guests, congregated at Marsden Golf Club for the Choir’s annual Singles Golf Tournament over a 9-hole challenge. Before going out to swing a club however, sustenance in the form of a bacon-butty and a cup of something warm to drink was had by all.
At 10am, the first group tweed-off to rapturous applause, followed by five more groups in 10 min intervals. Although the weather was not ideal, this did not stop the intrepid members from hacking away and enjoying themselves.
Following the completion of the tournament, all met in the clubhouse to enjoy a warm meal and a few bevvies, whilst the tournament adjudicator (Phil Kirkpatrick) scored the cards of each player.
The winner was James Piggott from the baritone section of the Choir, who was presented with the Singles Trophy by the Choir’s Vice Chairman, Roger Wild.
